Stacy & Tom Hirschman
We have been devastated by the news of Tom Hirschman’s wife, Stacy. Tragically, after a hospital visit last week and while undergoing a series of tests, doctors informed Stacy that she has cancer on her pancreas, liver, and some lower lymph nodes. This shocking news has sent their family reeling as well as our community.

Riot Makes Finals at US Club Soccer Nationals
Rio Vista Riot U14 Girls traveled to North Carolina for US Club Soccer Nationals July 28th- 31st. The team won its first two games against California (2-1) and Boston (3-1) . Riot scored a late goal against New Jersey (1-1) to get the tie and advance to the national final game against Chicago. Chicago scored early in the finals and both teams played excellent soccer. Jeffrey Saari Named 2007 NM Boys Coach of the Year
Our COACH -- Jeffrey Saari -- was named the 2007 New Mexico Boys COACH OF THE YEAR at the annual general meeting of the New Mexico Youth Soccer Association on Saturday, 6/9/07. This is an outstanding honor for our coach, our Scorpions teams, and for Rio Vista FC. We congratulate Jeff on this well-deserved recognition and support him as New Mexico's nominee for Regional (and hopefully, National) Coach of the Year. Of special note were the letters of support from many of Jeff's current and former players/families, and the Adidas Champions League Finale match ball that was awarded to Jeff at the awards luncheon at Santiago's at the Tram.
