RVFC Team of the Week: U12G Rio Vista FC Express

The U/12G Rio Express won a gold medal in the bronze category at the Classic Tournament. Express entered the final in first place. They scored first in the fourth minute, on a free kick by Brenna Cecil  and then again in the first half with six minutes to go.  They held their opponents to one goal in the second half to win 2-1.  The individual balls skills we've been working on so hard really made the difference, as the girls had to fight through 40 mph + wind.

RVFC Team of the Week: Rio Vista FC 90 Girls

Congratulations is in order for the Rio Vista FC 90 Girls and their coach, Jason Moran. The team, family and friends all gathered at Sadie's to celebrate the entire team being recruited and signed by college teams. All the young ladies deserve the praise they are receiving along with Coach Moran for helping them get their names out there to be scouted and signed. RVFC Graduate of the Week: Courtney Tinnin

Courtney Tinnin Selected For NSCAA/ADIDAS

On behalf of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and adidas, I am pleased to inform you that you have a player that has been selected to the 2007 NSCAA/adidas Secondary School Girls All-America Soccer Team. The team in it's entirety is attached below.

Each year, the NSCAA selects All-America teams at the Youth, High School and College levels. She is invited to attend the All-America luncheon, honoring this year’s recipients, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. The luncheon will be held during the 61st annual NSCAA Convention on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 12:00 noon. As a guest of the NSCAA and adidas, they will receive a complimentary ticket to the luncheon; two All-America Award Certificates; a gift from adidas and free admittance to the many convention programs.

Additional luncheon tickets are available for coaches, relatives and friends. They may be purchased prior to the convention for $40 each. Pre-payment of tickets guarantees the reservations and will expedite check-in at registration. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. We anticipate over 1400 guests at the luncheon. Luncheon tickets may also be purchased for $45 at the All-America registration desk (based on availability). All-America registration will be located at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. It will be open Friday, January 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 19th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Your player will be receiving a packet in the mail from me. Please ask them if they received it by Thursday, December 14, 2007. In this packet are a blue registration postcard and a convention fact sheet. The blue registration card must be returned no later than January 7, 2007. They are also being given directions to register online. Please have them return the response card or register online, even if they are not able to attend the luncheon. Their name will be printed on the All-America certificates in the way that it is indicate on the response card. Each All-America will receive two certificates. One for the player, the other is for the school. Additional certificates may be purchased for $10 each.

Coaches, please contact your players to insure that they have received their notification packet. It is difficult to reach them over the holidays. We don’t want to miss award winners because they did not receive confirmation of their selection. The All-America luncheon is a tremendous event that we hope that have the opportunity to attend. We expect the luncheon to be a sellout this year. For more convention information, please visit our website at www.nscaa.com. ; Coach’s convention registration, hotel information and other convention facts are available on the NSCAA website.

If you or your All-America has any questions, or please feel free to write or call me.

Congratulations and best regards!

Sincerely Yours,

John J. Mayer
